Including Energy Programs in Air Quality Planning: States’ Perspectives


 In 2013, EPA released a roadmap for states to include energy efficiency and renewable energy in their air quality plans. Three states – Maryland, Massachusetts, and New York – developed case studies describing their experiences using the different pathways outlined in the Roadmap. These states will discuss the opportunity to include energy programs in air quality plans, describe their experiences with the Roadmap, and introduce the potential to include energy efficiency and renewable energy into a multi-pollutant, cross-sector planning process.
